(SCS PANGAMOT)

STROEVEN STICK FIGHTING (SCS ESKRIMA)

STROEVEN KNIFE FIGHTING (WKFS)

STROEVEN DIRTY BOXING (Pangamot / Dirty kick boxing) is realistic, hard, fast and effective and in it everything is permitted. Victory is its only goal. Pangamot literally means the moving of the hands and comes from the root word kamut meaning “Hand”. This unarmed combat style is focused on developing survival skills for unarmed against unarmed fighting, but also unarmed survival against an attacker with a weapon (like a stick or a knife). In our vision, to continue to meet the high-quality fighting standards, unarmed combat must be a translation of Filipino weapons training stick and knife. For example, one can only claim a name like Panantukan, Mano Mano or Pangamot if you apply the principles of Philippine Martial Arts. The movements in Pangamot are almost the same movements as with a stick or knife but made with the necessary adaptations based on the right Eskrima training.

SCS studies several areas at once. For example to recognise opportunities for striking or to recognise a disarm situation by feeling as opposed to only seeing. To be better able to sense when there is a potential danger we make use of and develop more sensitivity for a disarm or even to counter when at the specific moment being disarmed. SCS also studies all kinds of unbalancing methods, like takedowns of the attacker and also develops all kinds of locking skills. So we also study the disarm itself, like the mechanics involved in separating weapon from hand. In the SCS Way of Fighting the entire body is used as a striking tool. You can head butt, elbow, finger jab, pinch, bite, punch, kick, knee, slap, tear, & stomp and more...

SCS STICK FIGHTING An SCS Eskrima fighter does not need to learn different weapons as they are already well trained in the use of a stick and knife, and the techniques they mastered are suitable for use of different weapons. Through the understanding and mastering of Eskrima principles, besides a stick and knife, you are also able to use any kind of weapon: chair, ashtray,  paper, pen, bottle, book or even a hat.

As an SCS practitioner, you not only study the physical part, but also the emotional and mental part, like what could happen in the mind before, during and after the fight for survival. By developing and combining these three elements, one can become an all-round SCS fighter.

In the vision of SCS we also focus on attacking as a way of defence and survival. So every defence move in itself has a direct attack that goes with it. So an attack is a defence and a defence is an attack.  To make this possible you need to train at a high-quality Eskrima school.

Stroeven Knife fighting Frans Stroeven is also the founder and creator of the World Knife Fight System (WKFS). A Knife fight is a violent physical confrontation where one or even more attackers are armed with a knife. The knife fight plays a central and crucial role in the SCS system. It may involve the use of any type of knife, for example like the karambit, dagger, machete or tomahawk.

“Only if you know how to use the knife, you'll know how to defend yourself against a knife. Every martial artist who is taking self-defence serious must seriously consider training with the knife.”

In knife fighting, you create a mindset that you cannot develop in unarmed combat. Only one error with a knife can have fatal consequences. Mentally and psychologically the knife fight is important. Blood will flow during the fight. This can also be your own blood and you will have to accept that.

SCS Eskrima is a dynamic style that keeps on evolving over time and also adapts itself to all kinds of circumstances in which we follow the Spirit of the Eskrimador, who uses every weapon at hand.

SCS ESKRIMADORS ARE ALL OVER THE WORLD

Eskrima is one of 3 general terms for the weapons-based martial art systems of the Philippines. It is also known as kali and arnis and this art is considered to be one of the most sophisticated martial arts in the world.

Eskrima is demonstrated in all kinds of movies like Enter the Dragon (Bruce Lee), Rambo (Sylvester Stallone), The Hunted (Tommy Lee Jones), The Bourne Identity (Matt Damon),  Batman or in James Bond in Quantum of Solace (Daniel Graig) or The Book of Eli (Denzel Washington),

The word Eskrima is derived from the Spanish term esgrimir, which means to fight with weapons. The Stroeven Combat System (SCS) version of Eskrima is a modernised version of the Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). SCS is built on more than 30 years of experience worldwide.

SCS offers instructors, tools, drills, training methods and all kinds of programs (online and offline) for becoming an all-round SCS fighter and also if one likes all-round instructor within certain conditions. It offers the development of fighting skills for the street and survival in three areas: #1 Stroeven Dirty Boxing (Pangamot) #2 Stroeven Stick Fighting (Kali) #3 Stroeven Knife Fighting (World Knife Fight System - WKFS)
